A 19-year-old woman and a 50-year-old Brazilian man have been arrested in connection with the death of an elderly Algarve man, who was found dead at his home in Guia last Thursday with his hands and feet bound.
The body of the elderly victim, 84, was found by his granddaughter’s husband last Thursday morning at the man’s home in Guia, near the Arsénio Catuna sports complex.
The man was later identified as Álvaro Paderna, who lived alone and was a former emigrant in France.
According to newspaper Correio da Manhã, the man sold farm produce at a local market and concerns were raised after his family noticed his absence. His body reportedly showed signs of violence. GNR and PJ police are investigating.
The young woman is believed to have been aquainted with the victim.
