The INE noted that these results were impacted by the calendar effect of Easter, which boosted the numbers in March rather than April (with 11.7 percent more guests and 9.9 percent more over-night stays), plus there was the fact that April was quite a wet month.
Over the first four months of the year as a whole, guest numbers were up 3.1 percent and over-night stays were up 1.6 percent, but this still means that there was a slowdown in tourist activity.
