In comments to Antenna 1 radio, the Columbia University professor said that remaining in the euro would bring Portugal problems in the future.
Stiglitz argued that the German policy of austerity would remain despite several arguments pointing to the contrary.
He added that while Portugal would struggle initially in a hypothetical exit from the euro, it would allow the country to implement political and financial changes that would otherwise be impossible.
Ignored him. He don't know what he is talking about. Stay in EU.

Agree. ...
Portugal should concentrate on what would make stronger as a country.
Development of their main platform regarding growth.
Lisbon.
Porto.
Algarve.
The only problem I could see is the disapline to achieve this.
Thus one thing the EU has achieved is to create a business model for ruling Europe.
The problem is that once you stop listing too countries views/concerns all that good work gets lost.
