The men, a lieutenant-colonel, a captain, three lieutenants and two sergeants, have been arrested as part of the investigation into the deaths of the soldiers on 4 September. The soldiers died after feeling unwell during a training exercise in Alcochete on a day when temperatures reportedly surpassed 40 degrees Celsius.
Both victims are thought to have died from heatstroke-related complications.
