For consumers of over 10,000 cubic metres, and hence in the small industry category, the tariff is down by 5 percent while high pressure or major industrial consumers get a 2.9 percent drop in the price of natural gas.

This is the second decrease this year with the last coming into effect at the beginning of May, seeing price reductions of 3.9 percent, 6.5 percent and 9.4 percent across the three categories respectively detailed above.
ERSE said that natural gas bills were heading downwards for a range of reasons including the slump in oil prices in the final quarter of last year.
