The Portuguese Met Office has placed Lagos, Portimão, Silves, Loulé, Tavira, São Brás de Alportel, Castro Marim and Alcoutim on the second highest level of alert.
The warning was issued due to prevailing weather conditions, such as dry, hot and blustery conditions being conducive to the outbreak of fires.
