A press release from the authority explained that during the course of last week around 5,750 pairs of counterfeit shoes were seized from footwear warehouses.
The action, ASAE explained, was taken in an effort to “combat parallel economy aimed at the production/import, storage/distribution and selling of counterfeit products.”
In total the products seized are worth in the region of €141,000.
“ASAE, as a criminal police body, will continue to develop investigation and inspection action throughout the supply chain, in a global effort to combat the black economy, in favour of a healthy and fair competition between economic operators and the defence of industrial property rights”, it concluded.
