The action, which started at 3am this morning, is uniquely in protest against the low wages workers say they are paid by their employers and has resulted in greater traffic congestion this morning for motorists using the April 25 or Vasco da Gama bridges.


Besides linking the two banks of the Tagus, workers from the Transportes Sul do Tejo also operate in the Setúbal Peninsula and offer an alternative to train and bus services travelling to and from Lisbon.
