Nine of the adult cases are health care workers.
A 17-year-old girl died of the disease last Wednesday, the first death in many years.
There has recently been a major discussion in Portugal as to whether children and health workers should be forced to take the vaccine even if they or their parents are against the idea of vaccinations.
Meanwhile, a petition launched earlier this week to make vaccination against measles compulsory reached close to 1,500 signatures in less than 24 hours.
The online petition highlights that the vaccination rate is high in Portugal, but says people shouldn’t have to worry about the resurgence of diseases such as tuberculosis, measles, whooping cough or scarlet
fever.
The petition was launched in the wake of the death of the teenage girl in Lisbon.
