According to the Health Regulator, in the SNS National Health Service obese patients can wait eight months for a doctors’ appointment and a further eight for surgery.
This means any patient requiring surgery to tackle obesity faces a wait of around 16 months, making it the worst-performing field in medical specialties available in the SNS.
