Left-bloc MP Pedro Soares attacked Trump’s “reactionary and conservative policy” in violating fundamental rights and the votes by the PSD and CDS-PP, that referred to “transatlantic ties”, for allegedly thinking they could “have a seat at the Imperial banquet”.
Telmo Correia, from the CDS-PP, criticised the Communists and Left Bloc, which had supported” the worst dictators in the world” and who now attacked a democracy like the US “in a kind of psychedelic moralism”.
All parties expressed criticisms of Donald Trump’s restrictive policies on immigration and the restriction on the entry of refugees from seven Muslim countries and on the US relations with the European Union.
Socialist MP, Sérgio Sousa Pinto criticised and expressed his concern with some of the measures of “great cruelty and injustice” by the US leader that are “contrary to international law”.
