The mugging happened on Estrada de Benfica at around 8pm Saturday night when the two teens yanked a handbag from the 75-year-old victim.
Based on a description of the pair PSP officers managed to spot them and confront them.
The girls admitted the crime and were found to be in possession of glasses, a mobile phone and €450 in cash.
