Wet Xmas but year ends on a dry note

in News · 20-12-2017 14:04:00 · 0 Comments

Despite some rain forecast for the coming week, between Christmas and New Year and at times heavy in places, it looks as if Portugal might stay dry for the year end celebrations, and indications are of a bright – albeit cool – start to 2018.

Lisbon: A couple of short, sharp showers are forecast for Christmas day in the capital, and the rainclouds (and possibility of rain) will stick around for much of the following week, before drying up and being generally overcast for the New Year.
The North: Northern Portugal is looking bright but cold up until Christmas Eve, after which a solid week of showers is forecast, but the good news is the constant drizzle looks set to clean up for the year end celebrations and the sun might even come out on New Year’s day.
The South: Southern Portugal looks set to follow Lisbon’s lead, with a possibly wet Christmas Eve and day, heavier showers throughout the following week, and a partly cloudy but dry and bright-ish New Year.
