According to the commission, the “Wines of Alentejo Week in Angola” is to take place between 26 and 28 February and includes an annual wine tasting event in Luanda, two training courses for professionals of large distribution chains and a wine dinner.

In the days preceding the high moment of the event, which is the tasting on 28 February, "Wines from Alentejo" seeks to “leave an educational mark in Angola,” through training led by the Portuguese critic Luís Lopes.

In 2018, Angola was the second largest export market of Wines of Alentejo, “accounting for more than $7 million,” the commission said.

Over the past year, 79 producers in the region exported a total of 350 brands to Angola.

According to the commission, the wines from Alentejo, are sold to 115 international markets and the “quantity exported tripled in the last ten years.”

Brazil, Angola, the US, Switzerland and Poland are part of the “top 5” of importing countries.
