Between January and November 2022, the total number of live births was 76,269, numbers that exceed by 4.7% those that occurred in the same period of the previous year (72,869).

Even so, the natural balance (that is, the difference between the number of live births and the number of deaths) in November was -3,017, although it represents an improvement compared to the value recorded in the same month of 2021 (-3,813).

In the first eleven months of 2022, the accumulated value of the natural balance was -35,999, showing a reduction in relation to the value observed in the same period of the previous year (-40,701), but an increase when compared to the same period of 2019 (22,204) and 2020 (-32,180).

Weddings

As for the number of weddings celebrated in November, which totalled 1,968, there is an increase of 20.9% compared to the same month of 2021, that is, 340 more weddings.

In addition, there is also an increase in marriages in the first eleven months of last year. In total from January to November, 34,685 marriages were celebrated, 7,738 more (+28.7%) than in the same period of 2021 and, respectively, 3,400 more (+10.9%) and 17,282 more (+99.3%) than in the same months of 2019 and 2020.
