According to the District Command for Relief Operations (CDOS) of Castelo Branco, at 9:15 pm, cleanup work was underway, without any advance forecast.
Asked about weather conditions for the night, due to the possibility of wind, the CDOS of Castelo Branco said that it still had no information.
During the afternoon, seven air firefighters and 168 workers, supported by 46 vehicles, were fighting a rural fire in Covilhã.
A source from the CDOS of Castelo Branco told the Lusa News Agency that, at 7:10 pm, the fire was taking place in a "forest area".
He added that the fire had an active front and that, at that time, there were no "sensitive spots" or homes or locations in danger.
The alert for the fire, which raged in a wooded area, in the Paul area, Covilhã, was given at 4:55 pm.
According to the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), at 9:28 pm, there were 164 firefighters and 51 vehicles at the site.
