"Given the prospects of containing the covid-19 pandemic in the Autonomous Region of Madeira and except for a sudden and unforeseen worsening of sanitary circumstances, the application in the region of the announced contact containment week from January 2nd to 9th, 2022 is not foreseen, as announced at national level”, reads a communiqué sent by the Regional Health Department.

The Madeiran executive, from the PSD/CDS-PP coalition, indicates that classes will restart on the scheduled date of January 3, 2022 and "there will not be, between January 2 and 9, mandatory telework in the region".
