Enjoy the Algarve coast on two wheels

Nelson, founder of E-Bike Tours Carvoeiro opened the company “10 months ago”, on 10 June. Nelson had the support of Huib, a Dutch friend who encouraged him to start the business.

The inauguration of the company arose from the need to find new ways of discovering the local area along the cliffs in Lagoa.

Tours take place on electric bicycles, with “'fat tires and good power”, which can be done by people of any age, as Nelson mentioned he has already hosted tours for “a 10-year-old boy and an 81-year-old man”, doing the “Relax Tour”. This tour passes by the Farol de Alfanzina, followed by Praia do Carvalho, while listening to the history of the places along the route which continues through Benagil and Praia da Marinha, returning through Algar Seco, and finally through the Largo de Carvoeiro and ends at the E-Bike Tours store, which is located on Estrada do Farol.

The intensity of the routes varies according to the client, with each person being assessed to see what will suit them best.

The tours are most sought after by tourists, allowing them to get to know in more detail, and perhaps safely, the landscapes of the municipality of Lagoa.

Those who participate in the tours will enjoy an environmentally friendly service, which is one of Nelson's concerns that he revealed to The Portugal News. There is even the possibility of participating in a specific tour in which participants can pick up rubbish from the ground when they find it. Nelson has devised the possibility of putting baskets on the bicycles for this purpose and they will be able to pick up rubbish such as plastic bottles, which are often left on routes.

During the booking process, Nelson will find out what kind of people want the tour and their physical condition, to fit groups with the same goals at the same times. As a rule, groups are composed of six to seven people and can reach up to 10, if they are acquaintances or family members.
