Although easyJet already has a more generous measure, which will remain, we believe that this measure will clarify consumers about the minimum size of baggage they can take when traveling on any member airline of the association", according to a note sent to The Portugal News.

Even in light of the A4E decision, of which easyJet is a party, the airline ensures that its passengers "can continue to take on board one cabin bag per person free of charge, with a maximum dimension of 45 x 36 x 20 cm (including handles and wheels) and a maximum weight of 15 kg", according to the same note.

It is worth noting that the A4E measure follows a decision on 5 June by the European Union (EU) Transport Ministers on the rights of air carrier passengers.

Airlines must also provide clear information on the dimensions of the authorized object, in a clear and accessible format, and the maximum dimensions and weight of the baggage that they can take with them in the cabin.

The European decision is the result of a ruling by the Court of Justice of the EU, which ruled that the carriage of hand luggage cannot be subject to a surcharge, provided that it meets reasonable requirements in terms of weight and dimensions and complies with the applicable safety requirements.
