António Costa highlighted this line of action of his executive through a message he published on his official Twitter account.
"We have listened to specialists, researchers and technicians, at a time when the vaccination process is progressing successfully throughout the country, and when the Portuguese continue to be exemplary in complying with protective measures to contain the pandemic", wrote the prime minister.
In an allusion to the Council of Ministers this Thursday, the leader of the executive added: "We are preparing the next steps, seeking as much information as possible for the decision-making process."
At the end of the Infarmed meeting, in statements to journalists, the Minister of Health, Marta Temido, was asked about the approach that the Council of Ministers should have for the near future, given the current epidemiological situation.
Marta Temido anticipated a “uniformity” of measures, given the prevalence of the Delta variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus “in more than 95 percent of the national territory” and a “very significant number of municipalities in which the incidence is greater than 120 cases per 100,000 inhabitants” for 14 days.
