“In August 2021, the movement of 3.9 million passengers was registered at national airports and the movement of cargo and mail totalled 16.1 thousand tons (+76.3% and +55.3%, compared to August 2020, respectively)”, is read in INE's Air Transport Rapid Statistics.

In comparison with August 2019, the movement of passengers decreased by 39.9%, while that of cargo and mail decreased by 5.2%.

Between January and August 2021, there was a year-on-year decrease of 9.2% in the number of passengers handled at national airports (-67.1% in the same period of 2020; +7.1% in the same period of 2019 ). Compared to the same period in 2019, the reduction was 70.1%.
