This fantastic Charity event has been organised by the Shebang Events & PR Management with the goal of raising as much money as possible for The Portuguese (Algarve) Lifeguard Association and the Algarve Network for Families in Need.
You can support these two important charities by making donations at the event itself or raising sponsorship for your raft.
“The event is guaranteed to be fun for all the family and will make a huge difference to many people’s lives”. It is important to note that this event follows all the Covid guidelines and regulations, including everyone who enters the event will have to do a Lateral Flow Test to ensure everyone is Covid Free.
“All Rafts must float and need to be as Eco/ Ocean friendly as possible. Decorate your Rafts in your Business logos, Websites, Family names – the brighter the better! Take it as an opportunity for team building, business promotion or as a fun family day out.” To read about the rules on building your own raft please check out their programme on their website.
If you needed even more incentive to start building your raft, they have the most incredible first prize for the winners of the Raft Race which is “a three-hour Sunset Cruise for up to 10 people including dinks with Timeless Moments in Vilamoura valued at over €900!”. There will also be other great prizes for 2nd and 3rd place in the Raft Race as well as Prizes for the Kayak Race and Best Eco-Friendly Raft, best designed Raft, Best Decorated Raft, Best Flag or Best Name of Raft. Additionally, there will prizes for the best team’s mascots or supporters, effort in the race and most sponsorship raised.”
In terms of sponsorship opportunities: “The Algarve Raft Race event gives you the perfect opportunity to showcase your business, products & services to a wide range of people both at the event and online. Those that come on board in the Inaugural year, will be given first refusal next year.” Additionally, if you can’t afford one of the packages, you can still be involved by donating to the charities or by providing a prize for the event.
The programme entails “a Kayak Race which is followed by the main event which is the Raft Race, which is all about team building and an opportunity to have a lot of fun after the year we have all had. It is important to note that all teams must read the Rules & Regulations to ensure that you WIN, which can be found in the programme. “We even have given you some ideas of how to build your Rafts and we will be adding more ideas over the coming weeks over on our social media Facebook and Instagram pages, so please check out @algarveraftrace.”
The event will also include great performances from singer Luke Britton and DJ Mark Sebastian from Kiss FM and Soul Spectrum UK, to keep everyone entertained. Additionally, Sandbacks Beach Restaurant and The Beach Bar will also be available throughout the event for sit down meals and takeaway as well as snacks, ice-cream and drinks, making for a fantastic day all round.
