At very high risk of fire are the municipalities of Lagos, Portimão, Monchique, Silves, Loulé, São Brás de Alportel, Tavira, Castro Marim and Alcoutim (Faro), Almodóvar (Beja), Chamusca, Abrantes, Constância, Tomar, Vila Nova da Barquinha, Ferreira do Zêzere, Sardoal and Mação (Santarém), Vila de Rei, Sertã, Proença-a-Nova, Vila Velha de Ródão (Castelo Branco), Gavião, Nisa, Castelo de Vide, Portalegre and Marvão (Portalegre).

The IPMA has also placed more than 30 counties in the districts of Faro, Beja, Évora, Lisbon, Setúbal, Leiria, Portalegre, Santarém, Castelo Branco, Guarda, Porto and Bragança at high risk.

The fire risk will intensify in some regions of mainland Portugal at least until the beginning of the week.

The fire risk determined by IPMA has five levels, ranging from low to maximum.

The calculations are obtained from the air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.

The IPMA forecasts on the continent little cloudy or clear sky, temporarily cloudy with high clouds in the north and central regions, and weak to moderate wind from the east quadrant, gradually shifting to the west quadrant from the morning, blowing moderate to strong in the highlands.

The forecast also points to the possibility of fog or mist forming in the morning on the central coast, a slight increase in the minimum temperature, except in the Algarve, and an increase in the maximum temperature in the interior north and centre.

The minimum temperatures will range between 12 degrees Celsius (in Bragança) and 22 (in Portalegre) and maximum between 26 (in Aveiro) and 37 (in Santarem).
