The Commission is led by Algarve Left Bloc MP João Vasconcelos, whose party has tabled a proposal calling for the abolition of tolls on the motorway.
The Communist Party has filed a similar proposal, with the ruling Socialists so far only willing to accept a 50 percent reduction in tolls on the A22.
