Currently only 24 local health groups have dentists, through a project launched in 2016.
In related news, the Algarve is to receive ten new mobile health units by the end of this year. The Regional Health Board (ARS) said the new vans are part of a pilot project that aims to strengthen the proximity of state health care in the Algarve.
The EU-financed project aims to offer modern health services to people in rural and outlying areas.
