The crimes were allegedly carried out between 1998 and 2009 when Correia was head of Tavira council.
The Public Prosecutor asked for the former mayor to be sentenced after considering it proven in court that illegalities were found in proceedings relating to building licenses for areas classed as National Ecological Reserves (REN).
