The accident took place this morning at 6.15am (Friday) on the EN 125 in Olhão according to a report by Lusa news agency.
A source told Lusa that the incident occurred on a section of the EN 125 near to a nightclub in the Moncarapacho area of the municipality of Olhão.
Investigations are now taking place by the authorities to identify the driver of the vehicle.
