With only 12 players on the pitch of the Al-Shahaniya
training centre on Tuesday, located on the outskirts of Doha, the Portuguese
coach, Fernando Santos, had a larger group at his disposal today but did not
have Cristiano Ronaldo, who stayed back to do specific recovery work at the
gym.
Left-back Nuno Mendes, defender Danilo, and midfielder Otávio,
who are on the list of unavailable players, also did not go to the training
session.
Portugal beat Uruguay 2-0 on Monday, with two goals from
Bruno Fernandes, and secured qualification for the next round, and are leading Group
H, with six points, ahead of Ghana, which has three, while Uruguay and South
Korea both have one.
The Portuguese team faces the South Koreans, coached by
Paulo Bento, on Friday, in the third and final round of the group stage, in a
game scheduled for the Education City Stadium, in Doha, from 18:00 local time
