According to guidance 009/2021 released on 27 August by the national health authority on its official website: "the reference for the public in benches with individual seats is 50 percent excluding the front row" next to the playing field. At the same time, the “occupation of the seats must be done with a space between spectators”.
The DGS continues to advise against any contact between spectators and other participants of the sporting event and also recommended that unoccupied places "must have signs prohibiting their occupation" by the public in stadiums and pavilions, in addition to the mandatory wear of masks inside these spaces.
Access to the venues, whenever the number of spectators exceeds 1000, in an open environment, or greater than 500, indoors, will continue to require the presentation of the digital certificate of complete vaccination or test with a negative result for the virus.
However, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has already confirmed that the DGS guidance will be followed “with immediate effect” in the competitions it organises.
