“Today, a new vaccine delivery was also received from BioNTech / Pfizer, a quantity of 87,750 doses, and for this week, in the delivery calendar, another delivery of the Modern vaccine is scheduled for the end of the week, with an order 22,800 doses”, said Marta Temido.
The minister made the statements on the vaccination plan against covid-19, after a meeting, by videoconference, with the task force. The meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister, António Costa.
Before that, Marta Temido clarified that, “until the end of last week, 493,050 doses of vaccines against covid-19 were received in Portugal and, of that total, 450,150 were delivered on the mainland”.
"The first delivery of vaccine was received yesterday from the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, an amount of 43,200 doses", said the minister, stressing that "this is the generic update of vaccines delivered to date" in the country.
Marta Temido added that, “according to what the deliveries are” that the Government has confirmed to date, “for the first quarter a total of about 1.9 million doses of vaccines are concerned”.
"Therefore, there are still quantities that were contracted and whose delivery is yet to be confirmed, which is expected to happen", she explained.
