At the World Championships in Birmingham, England, Portuguese gymnast Gabriel Albuquerque placed fourth in the men's solo springboard final, while Pedro Ferreira placed seventh.

In a historic final for Portugal, with two Portuguese gymnasts competing for the first time, Pedro Ferreira ended with 58.910 points, while Gabriel Albuquerque finished with 60.020.

China's Langyu Yan (60.690) and Zisai Wang (60.680) won the gold and silver medals respectively, with Japan's Ryusei Nishioka (60.640) taking bronze.

The qualification of Pedro Ferreira and Gabriel Albuquerque for this final guaranteed Portugal a place in the men's individual springboard event at the Paris2024 Olympic Games.
