In a statement, the union, which represents around 1,300
teachers, says that the “unprecedented form of struggle” results from a poll
carried out on the ArLindo blog, in which 1,720 people supported the holding of
an indefinite strike.
Among the main demands, STOP highlights “fundamental issues
of the unresolved past”, advocating, from the outset, the accounting of all the
time of service, the end of access vacancies to the 5th and 7th levels, and the
possibility of retirement without penalty after 36 years of service.
