According to the agenda of the Committee on Economy, Public
Works, Planning and Housing, available on the parliament's website, the hearing
of Christine Ourmières-Widener is scheduled for January 18th, at 10:30 am.
On Monday, the president of Chega, André Ventura, announced
that the party would call the executive president of TAP to parliament to
explain the compensation of Alexandra Reis, after the PS party rejected the proposal
for a hearing at first.
"Chega considers that the time has come to powerfully
request a hearing from the president of the Executive Committee of TAP,
Christine Ourmières-Widener, so that the Assembly of the Republic can finally
reach the truth that is sorely needed to dispel the fog that surrounds this
whole soap opera", reads the request released by the party.
The Minister of Finance, Fernando Medina, was also at the
Assembly of the Republic to explain the case of compensation of half a million
euros paid to former Secretary of State Alexandra Reis, which led to the
resignation of the former Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Pedro Nuno
Santos, and a reshuffle in the Government.
On Wednesday, in a parliamentary debate, the prime minister
considered that former Secretary of State for the Treasury Alexandra Reis
violated the public manager statute when she was appointed to Navegação Aérea
de Portugal (NAV) and did not return part of the compensation that she had
received from TAP.
The PS has already indicated that it will facilitate a parliamentary inquiry into TAP proposed by the BE.
