More than 100,000 members of the Public and Commercial
Services Union (PCS), are due to demonstrate on 1 February, which will have an
impact on ministries, museums, ports and airports.
According to information provided by the
SchengenVisaInfo.com website, controls in Calais, Dunkirk and Coquelles in
northern France will also be affected.
The British authorities have already informed that they will
send military personnel, civil servants, and volunteers assigned to the
Government to assist Border Control in all ports and airports affected by the
strike, admitting, however, that delays will be inevitable.
“If you travel to the United Kingdom via any point of entry,
you should prepare for disruptions and obtain information before travelling”,
says the British authorities in a press release, adding that the issues should
last until the 2nd of February in the morning.
