Together with partner Neil Webb, also a former golf pro, the couple raise both awareness and money for animals in need throughout the Algarve.
Frankie was a rescue kitten from Tavira adopted by the couple who were heartbroken when he unfortunately passed away in an accident on 4 September 2019. He was only one year old. In his memory the couple founded The Frankie Foundation.
The connection to SOS Algarve Animals came when a Podengo puppy saved by SOS, now called Freddie, was adopted by Liesl and Neil. Since then the relationship between the charities has grown and through sales of the companies animal print golf polos, Esterl Golf donates 20% of the proceeds of its Frankie Foundation Collection to help sterilize, feed and train animals in need.
The charity has also sponsored a special training for shelter dogs from the APAR shelter in Moncarapacho with Dog trainer Nuno Nunes in Tavira to help the animals to become calmer and more suitable for adoption. The charity also feeds street animals with the money raised.
If you would like to know more about Esterl Golf, it’s products or, the Frankie Foundation you can contact either Liesl or Neil directly through their website at www.elisabethesterl.com and theFrankie Foundation Facebook page can be found at @frankiefoundation.
Please do consider supporting animal welfare causes in the Algarve. It’s so needed and so very worthwhile.
