According to the DGS epidemiological bulletin, the number of patients admitted to the ward continues to increase and today there are 19 more patients than on Sunday, totalling 239.
As for hospitalisations in intensive care units, there is one less patient, compared to the previous day, and they are currently hospitalized 57.

The data still shows a decrease of 47 active cases of infection, now totalling 22,468.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in Portugal, which occurred in March 2020, 17,018 people have died out of the 845,465 confirmed cases of infection, according to DGS.

The bulletin states that the North region today has 60 new SARS-CoV-2 infections and one death with covid-19, totalling 339,356 cases of infection and 5,353 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, 97 more cases of infection were reported, accounting for 319,446 cases and 7,211 deaths so far.
In the Centre region, 20 more cases were registered, with 119,553 infections accumulating and 3,020 deaths.
In the Alentejo, eight more cases were reported, totalling 30,083 infections and 971 deaths.
In the Algarve region, the bulletin reveals that 13 more infections were registered, accumulating 22,161 cases and 363 deaths.
The Autonomous Region of Madeira registered 17 new cases, accounting for 9,631 infections and 68 deaths due to covid-19, since March 2020.
The Azores today have 26 new cases and account for 5,235 cases and 32 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, according to DGS.
The regional authorities of the Azores and Madeira disclose their data on a daily basis, which may not coincide with the information disclosed in the DGS bulletin.
Of the total number of fatalities, 8,939 were men and 8,079 women.
The largest number of deaths continues to be concentrated in the elderly over 80 years old, followed by the age group between 70 and 79 years old.
Today's DGS bulletin also shows that the transmissibility index (Rt) of the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus continues to rise, standing at 1.06, while the incidence of infection cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days has increased to 55.6.
