Next week, when the summit of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) takes place, scheduled for 16 and 17 July in Luanda, TAP will operate the third flight on Sunday, to allow the return of this traffic, indicated the same source.
Nine international airlines currently operate at Luanda airport: TAP, Angolan TAAG, Belgian Brussels Airlines, French Air France, and German Lufthansa, Emirates of the United Arab Emirates, South African CemAir, Ethiopian Airlines and Qatar Airways.
Angola has maintained restrictions to its airspace since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, having suspended direct flights to Portugal, Brazil and South Africa between 24 January and 13 March.
Subsequently, due to the increase in the number of cases, the Angolan government presented new measures to stop the spread of the pandemic and decided to temporarily interdict non-resident foreigners from Brazil and India from entering the country, establishing a "mandatory institutional quarantine" for nationals and resident foreigners from both countries, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
To avoid virus importation, it is mandatory to carry out a PCR test to 72 hours before boarding, as well as a post-landing test (antigen), for all passengers upon arrival at the 04 de Fevereiro Airport, in Luanda.
