This position was shared by António Costa on his official Twitter account, at the end of the Infarmed meeting in Lisbon, regarding the evolution of the epidemiological situation in Portugal, which was also attended by the head of State, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Ferro Rodrigues, as well as representatives of parties with parliamentary representation.
According to the prime minister, at the meeting on the epidemiological situation in Portugal, “a clear message remains”.
“It's up to each one of us to maintain the protection rules so that we can continue to beat the virus”, wrote António Costa.
The prime minister then gave praise, especially to health professionals in the fight against covid-19.
“The strong participation of the population, the commitment of health professionals and an effective implementation of the vaccination strategy make Portugal one of the countries in the world with the highest rate of vaccination against covid-19”, he said.
Next week, in the Council of Ministers, the Government will announce the lifting of several restrictions and the new framework of measures that will be in force in view of the new vaccination rate existing in Portugal and the downward trajectory in the incidence and transmission of covid-19 in Portugal.
Yes yes, we have a "victory" over the virus but also now a civic duty to continuously keep beating the "defeated" virus, because the vaccines work so so well and good. ...meanwhile all over the world they keep saying the vaccinated need to be protected from the unvaccinated. Also, it looks like there would be plans to have new medicines for the vaccinated (essentially biologically mimicking Ivermectine combo treatment with more expensive and patent-able chemical replacing the use of Ivermectine) to help keep their health in shape and cope with the side effects of repeated third, fourth and fifth, and so on, vaccinations that are somehow going to be needed. I don't believe those medications will be needed by the unvaccinated, but maybe the unvaccinated will just be put in some type of ...green... camps, so they will not ...somehow... be a threat to the vaccinated. Let all the madness end please, I hope the vaccinated will survive, especially since there seems to be so many of them in beloved Portugal.
