A source from the Vila Real District Command for Operations and Relief (CDOS) told Lusa that the fire, whose warning was given at 22:36 on Monday, was reported to have been under control at 05:29.
At 07:00, 113 operational were on site, with the support of 32 vehicles.
According to the CDOS of Vila Real, the fire was burning in an area “with a very steep slope” and with difficult access.
At 01:20, the second operational commander of the CDOS district of Vila Real, Borges Machado, noticed a strong wind, in the order of 40 kilometers per hour, which was making the operation difficult, and indicated that more resources would be requested to the location.
