This is the tale of an epic three-month adventure through unexplored jungle terrain by the author who has a desire to explore the world around her. This unknown expedition through the jungle and by river is only for the courageous.
The author followed Guyana’s Essequibo River from source to sea, with the help of guides from the Waî Waî community. Pip and her teammates journeyed through the rainforest, facing perilous situations every day including the flesh eating disease as they made their way through rapids, waterfalls and jungle, before finally reaching the Atlantic Ocean.
Along with survival skills, Pip learnt the value of community, forgiveness and self-belief. In this book she shares many pearls of wisdom that we can all apply to our own lives.
Many of her insights are useful to us and how we can live better every day.
