According to the PJ, the detainees, aged between 29 and 43, were subjected to the first judicial interrogation on suspicion of the crime of drug trafficking, with four of them being held in preventive detention.

The arrests took place, in recent days, as part of separate investigations related to "the activities of criminal groups that, in an organised manner, are dedicated to the introduction of significant quantities" of drugs in Portugal, as well as their subsequent distribution.

The investigations continue, under the responsibility of the National Unit for Combating Narcotics Traffic (UNCTE) of the PJ.
