In a statement entitled “Terrorist action prevented”, the PJ says that the investigation that led to the arrest was triggered “due to suspicion of an attack directed at university students at the University of Lisbon”.

“Given the seriousness of the suspicions, the highest priority was given to the investigation, which allowed for the interruption the criminal activity in progress”, they say.

According to the PJ, “vast evidence was seized, which will confirm the initial suspicions”.

In addition to prohibited weapons, other items were seized, “susceptible to being used in the practice of violent crimes” and extensive documentation, “in addition to a written plan with the details of the criminal action to be launched”.
