According to the Emigration Observatory, which cites data from Denmark Statistik, in 2021, 1,609 Portuguese entered Denmark.
These Portuguese emigrants represented 2.2% of the 73,274 foreigners who entered Denmark that year.
The Emigration Observatory notes that, “despite the restrictions on movement imposed by the pandemic during the last two years, the number of Portuguese who entered Danish territory again reached a new maximum value for this century, for the second consecutive year”.
From 2019 to 2020, there was a 13.6% increase in Portuguese emigrants who entered Denmark and, from 2020 to 2021, the growth was 66.2%.
Denmark was the choice of 1% of Portuguese who made the decision to emigrate.
Only the well off move to Denmark; it's VERY expensive.

This article is little short of pointless. Who were these emigrants, high net worth or low? Long term or short term Portuguese? Please elaborate as it is interesting to contrast with the fact that Portugal has become such a draw for citizens from all over the world.

The Portuguese can't afford a mortgage or rent in their own country, because their wages are too low. The foreigners are totally clueless how the locals have to make ends meet. All they can say, aww the Portuguese are sooo friendly....
and then they stick to themselves and their "expat" community!
