According to the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), most
infections are in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, but there are also records of cases
in the North and Algarve.
"All confirmed infections are in men between 19 and 61
years old, with the majority being under 40 years old", says the DGS.
All confirmed cases are getting "clinical follow-ups"
and are "stable".
According to health authorities, the clinical manifestation
of Monkeypox is generally mild, with most infected people recovering from the
disease within a few weeks.
Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and back pain,
swollen lymph nodes, chills and exhaustion, progressing to a rash.
