This position by António Costa to renew the contingency
situation was taken after meeting with the president of IPMA, Miguel Miranda,
and with officials from the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority,
in which the Minister of Internal Administration was also present, Jose Luis
Carneiro.
“The temperature will drop in the next few days, but we have
had an accumulation of fires in the last few days. Although ignitions tend to
go down, there is a legacy that passes from day to day, in addition to the
increasing wear and tear of the forces that are on the ground”, concluded
António Costa.
