The pool is free to use, is 20 by 25 metres in size, has a
maximum depth of one metre and a temperatures of between 28 and 29 degrees.
According to a report by ECO, the Vila Nova de Gaia City
Council invested 96,468 thousand euros in the first swimming pool with heated
sea water in the country, which is integrated into the beach between Grão de
Areia and Ar de Mar.
It opened to the public today (30 July), in Canide Norte, in
the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia.
“The pool is 100% sustainable, as sea water is used, heated
by solar panels (renewable energy), and will be permanently monitored,” the
municipality led by socialist Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues said in a statement.
Very glad to hear that the water will be heated using renewable energy from solar panels. I was wondering how it was going to be heated when I read the title. Sounds a great attraction because many people find the water in the sea too cold.

Well they may think the water is too cold now but at the rate Climate Disruption is accelerating it will be "comfortable" soon. People should THINK about that and not ignore the signs, fires, drought +++ and do whatever they can contribute NOW.
