The race will take place between March 24 and 26 of next
year and will mark the beginning of the World Cup, which, for the first time
since 2006, will start in Europe.
This will be the fourth consecutive year that the Autódromo
Internacional do Algarve (AIA) has hosted the world's biggest motorcycling
competition, since MotoGP returned to Portugal in 2020, after being absent
since 2012.
Portimão is also scheduled to hold two days of pre-season
tests, which should take place the week before the Grand Prix, on dates yet to
be announced.
In a statement, the Fédération Internationale de
Motociclsimo (FIM) reveals that the full calendar will be announced “in due
course” but that the first race “is already confirmed”.
