According to data from the European Commission's
Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs, the consumer confidence
indicator dropped 3.8 points in the euro area and 3.5 points in the EU,
compared to August.
The previous record, of -24.9 points in the Eurozone and
-26.0 in the EU, had been reached in July, followed by a slight recovery, respectively,
of 2.1 points and 1.0 points in August.
