The magna meeting of the United Nations (UN) approved a set
of resolutions on decolonisation issues dealt with annually by its Fourth
Commission.
On Gibraltar, the General Assembly alluded to the fact that
the United Kingdom was in favour of the continuation of the so-called
"Trilateral Forum for Dialogue" (between Spain, Gibraltar, and the
United Kingdom), but also referred that for Madrid this forum "no longer
exists and must be replaced by a new local cooperation mechanism in which the
inhabitants of Campo de Gibraltar and Gibraltar are represented".
For the organisation, the final solution in the case of
Gibraltar is "to listen to the interests and aspirations of Gibraltar that
are legitimate under international law" and urges the two countries to
"progress in areas of mutual interest towards a relationship based on
dialogue and in cooperation".
Spain and the United Kingdom disagree over
representativeness when speaking on behalf of Gibraltar: Madrid wants direct
talks with the United Kingdom, while London intends to leave these discussions
in the hands of Gibraltarians themselves.
Spain invades Gibraltar. UK responds and suppresses Spain. Portugal protests, France capitulates and Germany refuses to get involved. Biden releases six more Al Queda prisoners in exchange for a lifetime supply of adult diapers. See how it works?

Gibraltarians, Poms, Spanish in La Linea , are all happy with the status quo , even the political wind bags in Madrid are happy , as it gives them somthing to gob off about and distract from their poor performance in governing the country
