Portugal has held onto ninth place in the FIFA ranking of
national teams and is now ahead of Spain.

The updated FIFA rankings show Spain in 10th place, falling from 7th, and Croatia climbing from 12th to 7th place.
The ranking continues to be led by Brazil, with Argentina in second followed by France, then Belgium and England.

If only it did in GDP per capita and HDI but the Portuguese are far more concerned with football that what really matters. It is a hopeless situation.
